I charge $90 a month per student. This entitles each student to a set number of lessons based on the starting month and ending August 31, 2019. I will keep track of the number of lessons each student has received and will provide the number via email each month. Some months may have 5 lessons, other months may have 2 lessons. The cost each month will always be $90 with the possible exception of the summer months (see Summer Lessons below).

If the student does not reach the set number of lessons by August 31, 2019, I will offer a refund or credit in the amount of $27 per lesson.

Summer Lessons

Summer lessons are the exception to the rule. If your child has reached 36 lessons and you would like to purchase more, I am happy to discuss adding lessons in the schedule for a $27 charge per lesson. This will be billed in addition to the $90 monthly lesson fee. The monthly plan must continue to be paid through the end of August.

Materials Fees

Parents are also responsible for reimbursing any new book/music fees. New book purchases will be discussed beforehand. I receive a slight discount at the music store so I will purchase the books and pass the discount price on to you. New books are needed approximately every 4-6 months in the beginning, and cost about $20 each time. With the more advanced students the frequency of books purchases decreases to about once a year but is slightly more expensive at $25

• $30. If your child has an older sibling who has already begun piano lessons I am happy to reuse their books (if they are at the appropriate age level) with the exception of the Theory book which must be purchased new.

Payment

Payment is due by the 7th of every month. The last week of each month I will send a digital bill via email with the lesson dates for the upcoming month as well as any book charges. For example, the September bill will be sent to each parent the last week of August. Payment will then be due by September 7th. I accept cash or checks. Most banks offer a bill pay service that will allow you to send a check on the same date every month which is very convenient for all parties. I highly recommend using the auto check service.

Discontinuing Lessons

If your child stops taking piano lessons during the term, the number of lessons taken will be totaled and multiplied by $27 per lesson, then compared against the amount paid. A refund will be issued or further payment will be needed.

Example: Suzie stops taking lesson after 4 months having taken 16 lessons.

• 16 lessons x $27 per lesson = $432
• 4 months x $90 per month = $360
• The parent still owes $72.

Example: Johnny stops taking lessons after 7 months having taken 22 lessons.

• 22 lessons x $27 per lesson = $594
• 7 months x $90 per month =$630
• The parent receives a $36 refund.
