Platform

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • We are committed to protecting George Mason from the Trump Administration's aggressive federal overreach
  • As we enter a new structure for Student Government, we are dedicated to centering DEI
  • Transparency, accountability, and systemic outreach to cultural, political, and religious groups, especially those that have been ignored by past administrations

Government and Community Relations

  • Creating an audience with federal lawmakers to compliment our state-level Mason Lobbies
  • Resisting the strategies and policies of the Trump Administration
  • Bridging the gap between the administrators reacting to the White House and the affected student communities through regular updates
  • Forming closer SG partnerships with Mason Korea, our Science and Technology campus in Manassas, Arlington Campus, and other satellite campuses
  • We will work with other campuses in the DMV to further student interests at the state and federal level

Academics

  • Academic Advisor Reform. The state of the Mason Advising is abysmal, and fixing academic problems such as this will be front and center.
  • Ensuring that Mason scholarships and financial aid are not impacted by potential losses of federal/state funding
  • Pushing for the Just Societies requirement at the Board of Visitors level, in whatever form it takes
  • Protecting federal work-study and supporting federal workers affected by job insecurity

Services

  • Working with facilities to ensure that menstrual products are stocked consistently in every dispenser on campus
  • Reforming the Disability Office to center student needs
  • Working to make Fenwick Library and other study spaces more sensory friendly

Administration and Finance

  • Working with Mason services to cap textbook prices at $500
  • Resisting raising costs that the Board of Visitors have initiated, including the recent Housing increase
  • Protecting Mason funding at the federal and state level

University Life

  • Partnering with Greek Life to promote tailgates and other events
  • Partnering with Athletics to advertise + support our sports teams
  • Ensuring that an Esports Arena remains a priority for West Campus construction
  • Working with the Student Funding Board and other ULife staff to make requesting funding, reserving spaces, and re-registration more accessible for RSOs

Off-Campus

  • Forming an easily accessible network of food banks and other support to help Patriots in need
  • Forming a network for low-cost housing in the Fairfax area as the cost of living continues to rise
  • Reducing Parking costs for Patriots on and off campus

Reform

  • Create a Liaison Council that directly advises the President of Student Government
  • All Senators who sponsor or co-sponsor a resolution supporting an RSO event must attend that event or a meeting of that RSO within a week of the resolution passing
  • Creating outreach trackers, initiative trackers, and regular reports available to the student body
